Amber Moore, L.Ac, MTCM
Amber moved to Minnesota in 2011 to attend school in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She graduated with a Masters degree of TCM in December 2016. She then took the NCCAOM board exams to earn her Diplomate in Acupuncture, and received her acupuncture licensure from the State Medical Board of Minnesota by December 2018.
While in graduate school at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville, MN, she spent 4 years in her school’s clinics. This included 2 years seeing hundreds of her own clients in the student internships. Part of her learning experience was completing an extensive clinical internship at Everyday Miracles, a community acupuncture clinic for new mothers struggling with financial need. She also has immersed herself in the community acupuncture movement by volunteering for her local clinic, Southpoint Community Acupuncture, for the past 5 years, and being a member of POCA, the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture. She learned in that time to value both the power and the practicality of Chinese medicine for all forms of imbalance and dis-ease that might affect our health and happiness, and its incredible potential to reach people in need everywhere. She hopes to support her clients finding their own unique path towards healing, learning and growing alongside them.
Although not a native to Montevideo, Amber has lived the majority of her life in various rural environments, and has experienced firsthand the need for more accessible and diverse healthcare systems in these areas. Her goal is to find and meet the needs of such communities.
Amber offers individual treatments focusing on full body acupuncture, with the addition of herbal consultation, dietary and lifestyle suggestions, cupping, moxibustion, and electrical stimulation (to the needles) as needed. Treatments are generally 1-1.5 hours for an initial intake session, and 45min-1hr for follow up sessions. Eventually, she hopes to offer community acupuncture events as well.
